Who do followers of Messiah usually say Mystery Babylon is?
There are a many different theories as to what or where Mystery Babylon is. For example Rome, Jerusalem, The modern-day ruins of Ancient Babylon in Iraq, The United States of America, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, a World-wide system of False Religion, some believe its the Catholic Influence of Paganism in Christianity, or even that Mystery Babylon is “The Whole World”
1. lets disprove the idea that its "The whole world"
- Revelation 14:8 “And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.” How can Babylon the great be the whole earth when it makes a distinction from her and the rest of the nations by saying she made them drink the wine.
- Revelation 17:18 “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” If she reigns over the kings (kingdoms) of the earth then there is another clear distinction between her and the rest of the nations, making it not the whole world.
- Revelation 18:3 “For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” The kings (kingdoms) of the earth have committed fornication with her then there is another clear distinction between her and the rest of the nations
- Jeremiah 50:16 “Eliminate the sower from Babylon And the one who wields the sickle at the time of harvest; From the sword of the oppressor Each of them will turn back to his own people And each of them will flee to his own land.” How would you be able to flee from to your own land (of your ancestors) if the Whole World is Babylon?
2. lets disprove the idea that its a system of False Religion or Catholic Influence on Christianity
- The belief that Babylon is the False Religions or Apostate Church with paganism could only work if The Great Whore isn’t a physical place
